In the not incredibly popular area of Akranes we found this little “pearl” - a quiet, tidy and cosy hostel with extremely helpful nice staff and hosts. I can only recommend to stay there for a couple of nights to discover the surroundings from there - you get excellent value for money and recommendations for trips in the area (hiking, horse-riding etc). A very nice stay!!
